Conservation organizations were facing a dilemma: Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) was growing in wild, free-ranging deer and elk populations. Misinformation and rumors were spreading even faster.	. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .	A web site with breaking news that's become the clearinghouse for information about CWD, with up to 880 visits a day from reporters, hunters, and scientists.

The Chronic Wasting Disease Alliance (CWDA) was founded by three major conservation organizations that wanted to extend timely, accurate news about the controversial disease beyond their national memberships.

The Alliance turned to Pyron Technologies, Inc. to develop a user-friendly site that could be updated easily. "Pyron turned the development around really fast," says biologist Gary Wolfe. "We had a working site up and going in a month."

The Alliance launched the site and watched the number of visits grow. "I've received many calls from journalists," Wolfe says. "I've been quoted in magazines and papers, been on radio shows and TV, and been interviewed by ESPN. It's become an important source of information for reporters and hunters, and a site where scientists can review the latest policy. I'm really proud of what the web site has accomplished."
